Start by lying on side in fetal position. Small hand weights (2-3 lbs.) can be used to enhance stretch. Keeping legs still, knees together, and arms at right angles, rotate upper body around till gentle stretch is felt through chest/shoulders. If your knees separate, use the hand to the side of the knees to hold the knee down. Hold for 10 to 15 seconds and then return to starting position. Repeat 3 to 5 times to each side. Breathe normally throughout! Do not use heavy weights for this exercise and when increasing, do so in 1 lbs. increments.
Great exercise for golfers, too, who feel they have lost distance as it will help range of motion in the backswing.
